Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Worth the Wait for the Best Landscaping Companies

The first 2 questions we usually get asked whenever someone calls us about a landscaping job are “How soon can you get here to give us a quote?” and “How quickly can you get started?” We try to be very transparent up front that it might take a week for us to come out for a bid. Once we get the go ahead from the property owner, it can also take another 4 to 6 weeks to get your job started. Why does it take us so long? There are a few reasons.

Because of our solid track record of providing quality work for our customers, we’ve got a steady backlog of work to complete. It takes time to do a job the right way. We aren’t the cheapest or the fastest landscapers in town, but we stand behind our work and will only take on quality jobs that we can be proud of.

Get Answers to Your Questions

Do you have a question that is not listed on this page? Simply contact us by calling (636) 278-9994 and we will have it answered as soon as possible!
  • Q:What Happens at the Initial Landscape Design Appointment?

A:When you schedule the first appointment, one of our designers will meet you at your property to listen to your landscaping ideas, material preferences, and color choices. As we walk the property, we will discuss your landscape design vision and explore various concepts, such as patio ideas, landscape lighting, flagstone walks, landscaping rocks, trees, and shrubs, retaining walls, outdoor kitchens, firepits or water features. Then together we will determine the next course of action.

  • Q:Do You Charge a Fee for the Design?

A:No. We design our landscape projects for our customers with the belief that they will recognize our creativity, skills, and fair pricing. However, if you are requesting for a “Design Only” then there may be a charge involved.

  • Q:How Long Will the Landscape Project Take?

A:The amount of time necessary to complete a landscape project depends upon the scope of the project. Timelines will be provided once the size of the project has been determined.

  • Q:Do I Need to Be Home When Work Is Being Done?

A:Typically, not. The availability of your outdoor water faucet and/or outdoor electrical outlets is usually necessary, but there’s no need for you to stay home (unless you want to watch us work).

  • Q:Does Professional Landscaping Increase Property Value?

A:Yes, very much so. Some research has shown by as much as 20%, depending upon the installation. Popular items such as outdoor living spaces significantly add value.

  • Q:What Is the Best Time of Year for Landscape Installation?

A:It is said that spring and fall are the best times of year for the installation of plant material. Hardscapes (i.e., retaining walls, water features, etc.) can be installed and designs can be created anytime of the year. No matter what season, we would love to hear from you!

  • Q:When Is the Right Time to Plant Trees & Shrubs?

A:Late fall is the ideal time to plant trees and shrubs because even evergreens are dormant during this time of year. Along with cooler temperatures, transplanting dormant trees and shrubs is the key to minimizing plant stress and increasing their survival rate. Another important thing to remember when planting B&B material in the fall is the plant should not have been field dug until the first frost. Beware of “great deals” on large B&B trees if you cannot verify when they were dug. Container shrubs and trees will transplant well nearly anytime of the year if watered and cared for. Be careful, however, during dry hot summer months, as this is the most stressful time of year for nearly all plant material.

  • Q:Do You Offer Commercial Landscaping?

A:Yes! We love working with business and property owners in keeping their landscapes maintained, cleaned, and have a sharp professional appearance. This is critical for your business image – not only to your employees but your customers! Please give us a call for a free on-site business estimate.

  • Q:Do I Need to Fertilize My Trees & Shrubs?

A:Yes. Trees and shrubs only require fertilization two times a year. It is essential to provide your trees and shrubs with this annual fertilizer to “refuel” the plant material after a long year of growing and fighting environmental hardships.

  • Q:Can We Rely on You?

A:Reliability is one of our trademarks. While we may not be perfect, that is our goal. We strive to build long term relationships based on reliability, quality, creative problem solving and value. We can provide references upon request.
